Hong Kong’s golf elite teed off to compete for the title of 1O1O Golf Challenge’s best golfer
Hong Kong, 4 October 2011 – The inaugural 1O1O Golf Challenge teed off yesterday at Clearwater Bay Golf and Country Club as 48 of Hong Kong’s corporate elite competed in the first qualifying round. 1O1O tournament ambassador, Former Open Championship competitor and Taiwan Open winner, Danny Chia was on the course to help coach and join in play throughout the day.

The 1O1O Golf Challenge is a tournament for 1O1O customers and partners to compete for the title of 1O1O Golf Challenge’s best golfer. The 1O1O Golf Challenge is an annual event in the brand’s extensive calendar of luxurious lifestyle experiences for its customers.

Danny Chia is one of three world-class professional golfers who are ambassadors for the 1O1O Golf Challenge and will carry 1O1O branding around the world on the Professional Golf Circuit. In addition to Danny Chia, Scottish six-time PGA Tour winner Sandy Lyle will take part in the third qualifying round and Grand Final, while American LPGA pro, and fashion icon Christina Kim will participate in the second qualifying round and the ladies day in February 2012. The ambassadors will coach the participating teams and provide tips throughout the day.

Established by 1O1O as part of its on-going commitment to providing luxury lifestyle experiences, the 1O1O Golf Challenge has three initial qualifying rounds. The top eight players from each of the qualifying heats will earn a place to play in the Grand Final. With the first qualifying round taking place yesterday, the next qualifiers will take place on 24 October 2011 and 21 November 2011. A ladies only day will take place in February 2012 and will be hosted by Christina Kim. The Grand Final will be held on 23 April 2012, the winner of which will take home a trophy and a specially designed 1O1O golf club bag along with the highly coveted title of 1O1O Golf Challenge’s best golfer.

Concurrently, 1O1O will run a virtual Golf Challenge through City Links Golf Lounge in Central, the winner of which will have direct entry into the Grand Final.
